Fanatics has released Ohio State Buckeyes Adult Face Coverings.

They haven't let one slip by yet, but IN got close last week.

The previous week, the Buckeyes got a surprising late battle from Rutgers. Ohio State won 49-27, but it was an unsettling day for coach Ryan Day and his defense.

"I don't think there's been anything schematically where you look at it and be like, 'Well, that's not good, '" Day said. Under Big Ten rules, teams must play at least six games to be eligible to play in the Big Ten Championship Game, set for December 19 in Indianapolis. "We just need to actually be better".

An unspecified number of Ohio State players in more than one position group have tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple media reports.

Assistant head coach/defensive line coach Larry Johnson will serve as interim head coach on Saturday while Day is in isolation. Testing will continue before the team flys to Champaign Saturday morning.

The No. 4 Buckeyes (4-0) are in first place in the Big Ten East Division and their following two games are at Michigan State (1-3) on December 5 and against Michigan (2-3) on December 12.

IL dominated Nebraska last week in a 41-23 win, the first time the Illini won in Lincoln since 1924. Brandon Peters threw for more than 200 yards and Mike Epstein and Chase Brown each ran for more than 100 in a game in which IL got Peters and other key players back from bouts with COVID-19. He is in isolation and will not travel to IL or coach the team this week. "And again, everybody's missing someone this time of the year, but it was the closest that we've had the entire football team together".

The Buckeyes have won eight consecutive games in the series and haven't lost to IL since 2007.

Illinois' running backs vs. Ohio State's defense. Trey Sermon added 60 more on the ground, and Fields ran for 78 yards and a touchdown. He's averaging 16 1/2 yards per catch. Depending on when Day tested positive, his status is questionable to coach against Michigan State. IL started three different quarterbacks in those games, including freshman Isaiah Williams, who had 296 yards of total offense in the 23-20 win over Rutgers on November 14. Ohio State's Justin Fields is fourth in the nation in quarterback efficiency.

Ohio State: WR Garrett Wilson has 100-plus receiving yards in each of the first four games. The Illini are second in the nation in both turnover margin (+2.0) and fumble recoveries (10). The defense picked off three passes and recovered two fumbles in the win over Nebraska.
