Players on Reddit have discovered that their save data have been corrupted after the file size goes beyond 8MB.

Cyberpunk 2077 players are reporting that if their save files become too big they get corrupted.

One way you can do this is manually copy the game save files from C:\Users\...\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077. Users on the forum report that crafting and disassembling items in-game quickly increases the file size of a saved game. They said that they will be refunding players from on their own if required in order to make sure that they are satisfied. Given that Cyberpunk 2077 is full of pickup and loot items, it is quite a frustrating problem for gamers.

"We know the developers at CD Projekt Red have worked hard to ship Cyberpunk in challenging circumstances". Unfortunately, its response did not appear optimistic to those with save files already corrupted. If you have used the item duplication glitch, please load a save file not affected by it. However, it has added a warning message that states "Users may experience performance issues when playing this game on Xbox One console".

The highly-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has had something of a disastrous launch following its release on December 10th.

It's worth adding that this comes nearly a day after Sony announced that it is removing Cyberpunk 2077 from its PlayStation Store and will be offering full refunds to those who have purchased the game. However, Microsoft has not removed the game from the Xbox store. It seems that this problem is occurring commonly for players who have spent many hours in the game, building up their inventories to the point their saved files are large enough to trigger the issue.
