They had seen slight variations - but essentially the same type - of defensive schemes for much of the second half of the season. No team was better at limiting yards or points than the Rams (11-6) and they continued to torment Wilson and the Seahawks (12-5).

Rams coach Sean McVay did not have an update on Donald's injury immediately following the game, telling reporters, "I will have more information for you later on". The Seahawks found some success - they used a combination of mid-range passing, the rushing attack and defense to win four consecutive games to close out the season. Twice. They won even though Wolford had to be taken to the hospital after a first-quarter hit, forcing Goff into the game just 12 days after undergoing surgery on his broken thumb.

His first season in the Pacific northwest concluded Saturday. "I truly felt like we had all the pieces".

"We got to make that next step". "Darious Williams showing up, I thought that was a huge momentum shift for us".

The Rams' scheme wasn't anything new to the Seahawks, but it was effective.

Seattle's quarterback was under a siege from the defensive front and a secondary that minus one play never let DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett break loose.

Wolford, who got the start over Jared Goff, was injured on a 2-yard designed run with 5:40 to play in the first quarter. Wilson completed 11-fof-27 for 174 yards, two touchdowns and an interception that resulted in a 42-yard pick-six touchdown.

Wilson had one of his worst playoff performances.

The Rams were able to take down one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League in Wilson, but they will need Donald if they plan to head into Green Bay and defeat Aaron Rodgers, or into New Orleans to beat Drew Brees. The Rams sacked Wilson a total of 16 times and hit him 30 times during the three games this season.
