Britain's Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have named their baby boy August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, Buckingham Palace said Saturday.

One of the infant's middle names appears to pay tribute to Eugenie's grandfather, Prince Philip. The royal baby, whose name has not yet been revealed, was born at London's Portland Hospital, where Meghan Markle gave birth in 2019 to her son Archie Harrison .

Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's son is Sarah and Prince Andrew's first grandchild, and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's ninth great-grandchild.

The photos were taken by their "wonderful" midwife, the couple said.

The Duchess of York's youngest daughter Princess Eugenie gave birth to her first child on February 9.

He was born 11th in line to the throne but will move to 12th place in the line of succession after it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their second child. "Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy".

Sharing a carousel of pictures on Instagram, the princess and her husband are seen holding baby August, who is wrapped in a blue blanket with matching blue beanie.

Eugenie married 35-year-old Brooksbank, a businessman, in October 2018 at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The baby is a regular Master Brooksbank even though his mother is a princess.
