Kevin Durant is mum on his Game 1 stare-down of Rihanna

During Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday night, Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum sent an interesting tweet predicting Thompson will not be with the Warriors much longer.

Durant is the obvious difference between the Warriors the Cavs dethroned past year and the team that overwhelmed the Cavaliers in Game 1. With the Warriors dominating the evening, she took it upon herself to serve as a one-woman cheerleading squad for the Cavaliers.

Durant's presence also benefited Curry, who hit six 3-pointers on the way to a 28-point night.

The highly-anticipated meeting between the defending champion Cavaliers and the top-seeded Warriors did not disappoint initially, with sensational dunks by LeBron James and Durant during a see-sawing first quarter.

"Obviously not really dealing with any bumps or bruises really besides this elbow that's not really a factor", Curry said. Miami went on to lose that series to Dallas in six games. The lapses were mostly glossed over as the Cavs streaked through the Eastern Conference playoffs. This is simply isn't a rematch as Durant took advantage of every missed defensive assignment, lapses, and even moved the ball to find open teammates.

When Cleveland stayed on Curry, Durant got easy dunks in transition.

The Warriors are too good offensively to let the Cavaliers allow them to pile up 18 second-chance points and attempt 20 more field goals. "It's definitely a number of things".

"Some of our lack of communication led to mistakes and led to buckets".

"She was rooting for LeBron [James] the whole game, and finally I got irritated and said, 'I'm the owner of the Warriors, ' "Lacob said. Uncharacteristic with the number of guys that turned the ball over, but we have to credit those guys for creating some of the turnovers". As a result James, who in many ways was his usual excellent self, finished with eight turnovers.

James sets the tone defensively, and if the Cavs' leader is getting cooked by the opposing team's two best players, how are the role players supposed to do their jobs confidently? However, their defense more than made up for it, providing the canvas for Durant & Curry to show their full offensive arsenal.

The Warriors are so prolific at scoring they don't always get recognition for their defense.

Kyrie Irving said there is no time to be disappointed.
