West Indies opener Kraigg Brathwaite has been reported for a suspect action following the first Test against England at Edgbaston.

Primarily an opening batsman, occasional off-spinner Brathwaite bowled just six wicket-less overs for six runs as England surged to a thumping win inside three days in Birmingham on Saturday.

The 24-year-old will have to get his action tested within 14 days, but he will be allowed to keep bowling in global matches until the results of his test released.

"Brathwaite's bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is", the ICC said.

Brathwaite has taken 12 wickets in his 38-Test career, half of which came in his career-best six for 29 against Sri Lanka in Colombo nearly two years ago.
