Mike Perry will be out of action for several months after undergoing surgery to fix a broken nose suffered in his loss to Vicente Luque at UFC on ESPN+ 14.

Perry lost a hard-fought split decision and was on the wrong end of a badly broken nose in the fight.

The social media reacted to the brutality of the situation, with many suggesting it as one of the worst injuries of UFC.

Luque has been quietly carving out a reputation for himself as one of the UFC's most underrated prospects.

Some good news did come out of UFC Uruguay for Perry however, as he and Luque received a $50,000 "Fight of the Night" bonus for their performance at the event.

The blow was so bad that Perry started having trouble breathing and ended up being hospitalized, the UFC on ESPN+ 14 post-show confirmed. But it was the damage Perry sustained that saw him go viral at the conclusion of the fight.

"Mike Perry underwent successful nose surgery in Uruguay early this AM, per his mgr Abraham Kawa". Kawa said he had some previous fractures in his nose that had to be taken care, as well, so the surgery was a bit lengthy.

Perry, meanwhile, is expected to stay in Montevideo for at least a couple days before returning home.
