Microsoft's already announced its Surface event for October back in August. It has the Surface logo and what appears to be a shape of a processor.

Nadella was not present during last year's Surface event and his presence in the attendance this year indicates that there is likely to be some significant announcement from the event. We've also heard rumblings of a Surface speaker.

There's likely even more set to hit the stage at the event that we aren't expecting. We also know that head of Surface, Panos Panay, will be there, along with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay has taken to Twitter to reveal that its 2019 Surface Event will be held on October 2. Microsoft has been working on it for at least two years; it's reportedly meant to kick off a new round of dual-screen and foldable tablet/laptop hybrids that are expected to launch in late 2020. But it did have a livestream when it introduced the Surface Studio and Surface Book 2 - major new hardware categories for the company. Alongside Centaurus, we may also get a look at the Windows Lite operating system, which is said to be focused on a lighter experience to compete with iPadOS and Chrome OS.

Unlike a year ago, Microsoft is expected to live stream the event, so keep an eye on the site for the latest news from the event.
