According to a report from CBS 11 News in Dallas, Spence was driving his Ferrari in Dallas at 3 a.m. CT, and drove over the center median at a high speed causing his auto to flip over several times and throw him from the vehicle.

Spence is now in the intensive care unit recovering from serious but not life-threatening injuries. The IBF 147-pound champion also collected the WBC title when he held off Shawn Porter on September 28 via split decision in their fight-of-the-year candidate. He did not sustain any broken bones or fractures, but has some facial lacerations.

Prior to that fight, Spence Jr twice defended his world title in his home state. Miles reports that Spence suffered broken teeth in the accident, but otherwise figures to make a complete recovery.

The WBC and IBF welterweight champion was taken to intensive care after the crash in Dallas, Texas.

Premier Boxing Champions, Spence's promotional company, confirmed his injuries were "non life-threatening" Thursday, but declined to provide any additional details. The 29-year-old boxer was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed.

Errol Spence expected to make a full recovery after being involved in a serious vehicle accident. "U still have a lot of life to live after that.' With that, I'm praying for @ErrolSpenceJr & his family because he has a lot of life to live and I pray he recovers quickly & fully", he wrote. "We're all wishing the fitting for Errol".

In 2017, Spence won the IBF world welterweight title by beating Kell Brook in the Englishman's native Sheffield.

The Yorkshireman sent Spence Jr his well-wishes on Twitter after hearing the news.
