A shooter arrived at the New England Pentacostal Ministries church at approximately 10:12 a.m. while a wedding was taking place, the Pelham police department said in a statement.

The newspaper reports they received an alert that four people had been shot.

Three people have been hospitalized, including two people for gunshot wounds and a third person for minor injuries, Roark said, adding that police had recovered a handgun from the scene.

It was unknown if the two people shot were part of the wedding party or were there as guests.

The police official said she did know how the shooter was taken into custody.

The area has been sealed off with tape as ambulances and dozens of other emergency services, including fire trucks, are at the scene.

The town of Pelham is located in southern New Hampshire, 23 miles south of Manchester. The service was in honor of a minister at the church who was shot and killed in his home October 2.

A spokeswoman for Lowell General Hospital in MA said they are treating one victim from the shooting, but did not release any additional information. He was 60 years old. A man has been charged with his death and is serving time in jail.

Pelham Police Chief Joseph Roark told reporters in a news conference that New Hampshire State Police and representatives from the state Attorney General's Office are on the scene.

Funeral services for Garcia were to be held at noon today at the church, but after the shooting mourners were turned away by police. His obituary said he was a minister at the church.
