Those who want to rewatch the animated series will have a chance soon enough as well because it will be found in the Disney+ service along with a huge catalog of Disney films and TV series.

Disney+ streaming service will be the home of Disney, Star Wars and Marvel. There will also be reboots of classic Disney franchises, like Lizzie Maguire and High School Musical.

A reboot of "The Mighty Ducks" 1990s Disney film trilogy is in development at Disney+, according to a report Wednesday by Discussing Film.

In what is both an outrageous slight against a great many childhoods and one of the most obvious inevitabilities in recent memory, the forthcoming streaming monolith Disney+ is reportedly pushing forward with a series reboot of the hugely beloved - if not strategically shoddy - Mighty Ducks film series.

The original 1992 film focused on reckless young lawyer Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) who after getting arrested for drunk driving, has to coach a kids hockey team for his community service.

"His mom decides to start their own team, finding players, a coach, and a place to play".

The Mighty Ducks original screenwriter, Steven Brill, will join Josh Goldsmith, Cathy Yuspa, George Heller, and Brad Petrigala as executive producers on the new Disney series. Therefore, the junior hockey team element looks to be the only thing kept from the original. The movie had a sequel - "D2: The Mighty Ducks" - in 1994. Hopefully, the cartoon will be part of Disney Plus's massive back catalog.

It was shortly followed by the acclaimed sequel D2: The Mighty Ducks in 1994, and then D3: The Mighty Ducks in 1996. Leave your thoughts and comments below, or on our social medias.
