MLS Commissioner Don Garber has now seemingly dropped a big clue about the Swedish forward's future after appearing to name-drop the player's next club during a recent interview.

Swedish superstar Ibrahimovic will be a free agent when his LA Galaxy contract expires at the end of December. He's a thrill a minute.

Ibrahimovic played for Milan between 2010 and 2012, scoring 42 goals in 61 league appearances, and Garber said he was on his way back to Serie A.

"Zlatan is such an interesting guy".

Ibrahamovic was named in the MLS Best XI in 2018 and 2019 after netting 53 goals in the competition. "He is a 38-year-old guy who is being recruited by AC Milan, one of the top clubs in the world." the MLS chief was quoted as saying by ESPN.

"He has nearly set records with how many goals he has scored over the last two years and he's exciting on and off the field, right? I have enjoyed the Zlatan moments, particularly when he speaks to me in the third person".

Though a star name is set to make his exit, Garber hoped that many others will join in following the steps of Ibrahimovic, David Beckham and Thierry Henry.

Beckham now owns a club in the U.S. named Inter Miami which will make its MLS debut in 2020.

"David is out there speaking to lots of players and, just as importantly, he is very involved in the academy down at Miami. They have a combination of young players and some global guys that David will bring in".
