Dakota Johnson Has Politely Destroyed Ellen, And Now Everybody Loves Her

Now we know why Ellen DeGeneres didn't go to Dakota Johnson's birthday party.

In a too-awkward-to-pause video viewed millions of times over the holiday weekend - and generating many a genius reaction meme - the talk show host started her interview with Johnson with a complaint that she hadn't been invited to her 30th birthday party.

After Dakota told Ellen to ask her producers to confirm an invite did come her way, Ellen remembered.

"Actually, no, that's not the truth", Johnson replies with a knowing smile.

The Suspiria actor made that much very clear in her November 27 appearance on The Ellen Show, crafting a viral "I said what I said" narrative to match even Keke Palmer's "I'm sorry to this man". When all three of my loves happened to unify on a recent episode of The Ellen Show, I was absolutely thrilled. When I say, 'be kind to one another, ' I don't only mean the people that think the same way that you do.

"But I did invite you and you didn't come", says Dakota, in now one of the most gloriously awkward conversations on television.

"Ask everybody. Ask Jonathan your producer". Here's hoping that Ellen makes it to Dakota's 31st birthday party. News reveals what her "thing" was. "You've been on the show many times and don't I show like?"

Actor John Cusack went as far as to accuse DeGeneres of "normalising mass murderers" through association with Mr Bush.

Ellen received widespread backlash - especially from the LGBTQ+ community - for her buddying up to the former president and even made an on-air statement regarding her friendship with Bush. The "out-of-town" thing was actually an National Football League game where she sat next to former USA president George W. Bush and his wife.

"People were upset. They thought, 'Why is a gay Hollywood liberal sitting next to a conservative Republican present?'" she said.

Since the 30-year-old's appearance, online sleuths have pieced together the potential reason why she was a no-show: DeGeneres was hanging out with buddy George W. Bush the following day! "Even people who are already playing Christmas music - I mean seriously, there's no excuse for that, but I'm kind to them". We're all different and I think that we've forgotten that's OK, that we're all different. "Of course I like you. I mean be kind to everyone", Ellen added.
