Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to miss at least a few games, as he is dealing with a wrist injury. And per The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski, Timberwolves coach Ryan Saunders said Towns would miss games with the injury. Examples include the 15 games that Towns missed earlier this season with a left knee injury followed by an illness, and the sprained toe that has sidelined Jake Layman since November. The Timberwolves haven't divulged what type of injury Towns sustained. They all played just one game together before Towns went down with that injured left wrist.

"Being the youngest team in the league", Saunders said, "we're going to have to make sure that we grow and we don't say, 'Hey we'll be better when we mature". This is his second noteworthy injury this season, as a knee injury sustained against the Los Angeles Clippers on December 13 forced him to miss the next 15 games.

Towns is averaging 26.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 blocks across 35 appearances this season.

Minnesota resumes play after the All-Star break by hosting the Boston Celtics on Friday.
