‘Bob the Builder’ voice actor ,William Dufris, dies

William Dufris, the actor behind beloved animated series, Bob the Builder, has died after a battle with cancer.

The sad news of the actor's passing from cancer was confirmed by a tweet from Pocket Universe Productions, the company he co-founded who produce shows such as The X-Files and a range of animated series.

"Bob the Builder" star William Dufris has passed away. They wrote how the loss has left a lot of people with a hole in their heart. We will have more to say later.

He voiced multiple character (including Bob) in the series for 75 episodes in the span of nine seasons.

Dufris was born in ME but his career as a voice actor took off after moving to London where he lived for 13 years.

Born on February 1, 1958, in Houlton, ME, Dufris got his start in voice acting in London during his early 20s. The co-founder of the production house lost his battle with cancer.

Maggs shared a collection of photos of Dufris to Twitter on Wednesday, name checking several of Dufris' projects in the caption. The aforementioned Pocket Universe is focused on the production of "fully immersive 'audio movies, ' adapted from science fiction, fantasy, horror, and thriller prose, as well as from stage plays and graphic novels", reads the site. The Bob The Builder Voice Actor made a place in the heart of his shows' audience.

He also helped establish a couple of audio production companies.

Dufris also voiced Bob the Builder in a number of North American direct-to-video projects.
