As it stands, the 32-year-old attacker will become a free agent on July 1, due to the fact he has yet to agree on fresh terms with the Blues over a contract renewal.

Pedro has insisted that comments he recently made about his Chelsea future were misinterpreted.

"But I still haven't spoken to the club about whether or not it will be renewed and whether I'll carry on".

The 32-year-old's deal is set to expire at Stamford Bridge on June the 30th and he may already have played his final match for Frank Lampard's side - unless Federation Internationale de Football Association agree to allow clubs to make short-term contract extensions due to suspension of leagues during the COVID-19 crisis.

"But I'd like to tell all the fans simply that my current contract is coming to an end but I still have to talk to the club".

Pedro, who has been unable to spend time with his children because of travel restrictions, is reported to have paid for 3,000 protective screens for hospitals in his native country, where there have been 3,434 deaths from Covid-19 and 47,610 confirmed cases. That conversation is still to come. I belong to Chelsea. My wish is to be able to stay here but obviously we don't know what will happen.

"The quarantine is a little difficult and hard on everything", Pedro added. These are some of the first initiatives we have but we're open to getting involved with many others.

"From here, I once again thank all the health personnel, the state security forces, the people who are in the supermarkets day-by-day. We want to thank them once more in this way for the work they are doing every day".
