Alongside news of Serious Sam 4's release date and platforms, Croteam shared a handful of short videos showcasing action-packed gameplay, alongside new information on weapons, enemies, the game's score, and the new Legion system.

Which isn't to say there won't be more, but it will come in the form of enemies rather than systems. The classic Serious Sam formula is revamped by putting an unstoppable arsenal up against an unimaginable number of enemies that requires players to circle-strafe and backpedal-blast their way out of impossible situations.

Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass is available for preorder now on Steam for $39.99.

The game is now available for pre-order on Steam in standard and deluxe editions, but will also be launching alongside Google Stadia this August.

The one spot of bad news amidst all of this is the title: Croteam has, for some reason, dropped the wonderful Planet Badass subtitle.

The first-person shooter returns with protagonist Sam "Serious" Stone defending humanity against alien invaders using a variety of upgradable weapons such as a double-barreled shotgun, minigun, chainsaw launcher, cannon, and the new auto shotgun.

Serious Sam 4 is due out in Summer 2021 for PS4. You can find several screenshots for the game in the gallery below.
