Flashback: Susan Rice Denied Knowing Anything About Surveilling Trump Transition Team

On Wednesday, acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell declassified the names of those in the White House involved in revealing Flynn's identity as a USA citizen corresponding with a foreign actor, as requested by Republican Sens.

"The meeting took place on January 5, 2017, and involved Rice, Obama, and Vice President Biden, the administration's top political hierarchy on national-security matters, along with Obama's top law-enforcement and counterintelligence officials, deputy attorney general Sally Yates (soon formally to take the acting AG role she was already performing), and Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey", former US Attorney Andrew McCarthy wrote Wednesday.

Former FBI Director James Comey warned President Barack Obama of the potential incoming national security advisor Mike Flynn might pass information to the Russians, according to a newly declassified memo.

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) joined a growing chorus of Democrats and Republicans alike in calling for the release of a transcript report from Michael Flynn's infamous late 2016 conversations with Sergey Kislyak, then the Russian ambassador to the U.S.

Schiff requested that transcript report be declassified and publicly released, in a letter Thursday to Richard Grenell, the outgoing acting director of National Intelligence.

"This whole thing makes no sense, he added".

Susan Rice's emails to herself recalling a meeting between White House officials on Michael Flynn's communications with Russian officials.

The Obamagate theory also accuses Obama and Biden of having advance knowledge of the FBI's plans to interview Flynn about his communications with Kislyak during the 2017 presidential transition period.

That allegation centres on an Oval Office meeting that took place on January 5, 2017, and included Obama, Biden, then-national security adviser Susan Rice, then-FBI Director James Comey, and then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.

Rice wrote that Comey had expressed some concerns about the frequency with which Flynn was communicating with Kislyak, saying that it could pose an issue when it came to sharing sensitive information.

What is 'unmaking?' Through surveillance, intelligence agencies pick up conversations between people overseas and American citizens.

"The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective", the email said. "He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book".

Comey's response was that was 'potentially the case.' According to Fox News, Comey continued that there weren't indications Flynn passed on classified information to the Russina ambassador, but noted 'the level of communication is unusual'. He went on to suggest that the administration might not want to share sensitive information on Russian Federation with Flynn, though Pelton says Rice did not change the way she briefed Flynn as a result.

While Comey describes his probe of Flynn as "proceeding "by the book" after Obama repeatedly stresses he wants only a "by the book" investigation - both parties presumably hoping to avoid exactly the sequence of revelatory events that are now unfolding - recently-unsealed documents from the case against Flynn indicate the general was entrapped, with the FBI's goal being to "prosecute him or get him fired" with an ambush-style interview.
