Bayer Leverkusen increased Werder Bremen's relegation worries after securing a 4-1 win with Kai Havertz's brace at the closing of the 26th round in Bundesliga on Monday.

The Germany worldwide scored twice for his side to help them to a 4-1 win.

Havertz, 20, has become one of the hottest properties in world football, with Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham all reported to be interested in the attacking midfielder. They have closed the gap between themselves and Leipzig to just one point with their win last night.

After registering a commanding win over Werder Bremen, Bayer Leverkusen's Kerem Demirbay hailed the club for delivering a "very impressive performance"."We definitely wanted to win this game and we did that really well".

The momentum shifted back to the visitors a minute after Bremen's equaliser, with Havertz bagging his second goal of the game to restore Leverkusen's lead 10 minutes before the break. His form over the past six games has been remarkable, as he has scored five goals and made five assists.

Leading his team to within a point of Leipzig, Havertz was the star of the show at an empty Weserstadion, scoring his 11th and 12th goals in all competitions this season, having netted 20 times last term.

Havertz was left completely unmarked to head home from eight metres after Kerem Demirbay floated in an inch-perfect free kick and Bremen fell apart in the second half as the visitors carved them open nearly at will. However, they will need a much improved performance to take any points from their next two opponents, Freiburg and Moenchengladbach, who are both in the top seven.
