Hold the Switch's Joy-Con controllers like the handles of a jump rope and jump away. That pleasant surprise is now Jump Rope Challenge, a tiny, little, free game released all of a sudden on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Self-quarantining to keep ourselves and others safe from the novel coronavirus has presented countless challenges that many of us weren't prepared to face.

Nintendo Switch owners looking to break a sweat at home now have several fitness games at their disposal, including Fitness Boxing and the critically acclaimed Ring Fit Adventure. It's all the fun of jumping, but there's not a rope in sight!

Jump rope virtually and watch the on-screen counter increase with each successful hop! It records your daily progress too, so you can look back and see how you've improved. What's your daily goal? You'll control a cartoon rabbit as you jump to a timer and aim for a high score, with multiplayer support for up to two people baked in. "Give it a try and get moving while at home!"

"For those who aren't able to jump, or are anxious about disturbing the downstairs neighbors, players can bend their knees or move their arms to play the game without creating any noise", Nintendo notes. You'll also notice it's possible to change the outfit your on-screen character is wearing as well as the background image.
