Manchester City are interested in Bayern Munich winger Coman and midfielder Thiago, according to French outlet Foot Mercato.

The Germany worldwide will initially cost Bayern £44.5million (A$89 million), rising to £54.5million (A$98 million) and is expected in Munich on Wednesday, Stats Perform News understands. City have also secured a 10 per cent sell-on clause.

The 24-year-old has continually been linked with a move back to his homeland which has seen City give up almost any hope of negotiating a new contract after nearly two years of talks with the Germany global. City, sources have told ESPN, are "happy" with the deal after Bayern opened talks with an offer of €30m. The club is believed to happy with the money recuperated with uncertainty surrounding the transfer market amid the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on football finances.

Leroy Sane has not enjoyed active playing time this season at Manchester City because of the injury he suffered against Liverpool past year August.

Sane, whose City contract was due to expire at the end of next season, is set to sign a five-year deal with the German club.

"He's a young player with incredible potential, a special quality that is hard to find all around the world, but we tried before the injury, we tried again but he rejected it".

"We tried before the injury [and] the surgery and after that and he rejected this offer".

"We have enough good players up front", Guardiola said.

"I love him so much, he's incredible, I've nothing against him - he wants another adventure".

Sane only made his return to action last week after recovering from knee ligament damage sustained in the Community Shield in August.

Sane, 24, joined City from Schalke in 2016 for £37m and has won two Premier League titles with the club.
