Riley County has seen 15 new cases of COVID-19 since Sunday, June 28. The latest data from the state Department of Health shows that 86.8% of licensed beds in Thurston County are occupied by patients, above the state's goal of under 80%.

Thurston County counts 221 people as "recovered" or "recovering", meaning they have been released from the hospital and from public health isolation.

The state department of health is out with new numbers, and the COVID-19 cases in The Valley are still low. There are now 18 active cases in Hopkins County.

The approximate number of current cases can be calculated by subtracting the total recoveries from the positives.

Cole County residents with the newest cases have reported mild symptoms and have been self-quarantining and cooperating with quarantine requirements, Schulte said. "As we do more testing, we will have more positive cases". Esmond, Malta, Shabbona, Waterman and Maple Park each report one to five cases. The 60178 ZIP code (including Sycamore) had 70 cases and 1,569 tests. Black people make up three percent of the county and nine percent of cases.

Three children under the age of 13 and a male in his 40s, all from Bureau County, have tested positive for COVID-19. As of Monday, 1,602,965 tests have been performed. It remains at 94%.
