Audi RS 7 Sportback launched at Rs 1.94 crore

Deliveries will be begin in August 2020. The 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine under the hood produces 600hp and delivers 800Nm of torque. This second-generation RS7 Sportback joins Audi India's line-up as its fourth model on sale at present, alongside the A6, A8 L and Q8. More RS models have been confirmed to follow the RS7 Sportback this year for India.

Audi has launched the 2020 Audi RS 7 Sportback in India, with prices starting from Rs 1.94 crore, ex-showroom.

Even when not on the move, the RS 7 Sportback makes quite an impression courtesy its stunningly striking looks. It has an aggressive face - a blacked-out single-frame grille with an RS-specific honeycomb finish, a redesigned bumper with larger air intakes and Matrix adaptive LED headlights.

The interior is full of all things new-age with a dual-touchscreen layout for the dash. The powertrain works in tandem with a 48V mild hybrid system and Cylinder On Demand technology for high efficiency.

Offered with five seats for the first time, customers can personalize their Audi RS 7 Sportback from a wide menu of trim and equipment options. For better buying experience, Audi is offering Augmented Reality experience and the official website can be visited for 360° product visualizer to explore features and customization options.

Light signature: the rear strip of lights feature a striking design. It gets specific details such as muscular wheels and RS-specific oval exhaust pipes as well as the powered rear spoiler. There is a spoiler that automatically extends from the boot lid upwards of 100 km/hr. The 100kmph from standstill comes in 3.6 seconds. The belt alternator starter can recover up to 12kW power under gentle acceleration and feed it into a lithium-ion battery as electricity.

The top speed of the auto is electronically limited to 250 km/hr and can be increased to 280 km/hr with the optional dynamic package and to 305 km/hr with the RS dynamic plus package.

Audi further informs that the drive select dynamic handling system allows adjustments to sound of the power unit for a more pronounced growl - a facet that may find favour among the niche target audience. It produces 592bhp and 800Nm of peak torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Also standard is the 21-inch 10-spoke star design alloy wheels, RS sport seats upholstered with black pearl Nappa leather and RS design packages in red or grey contest stitching. As standard, the new RS7 Sportback gets cylinder-deactivation tech and adaptive air suspension, while carbon-ceramic brakes, all-wheel steering and a heads-up display are optional extras.

13 standard exterior paint finishes, including the two RS-specific shades of Nardo Grey and Sebring Black, crystal effect, as well as 5 available Matte Effect paint finishes as an additional extra. Technologically advanced, the driver is at the centre of the action with RS displays for the virtual cockpit and a flat-bottomed RS steering wheel with Audi drive select RS1 and RS2 modes.
