In the week before, 54 people died, the Dallas County Health and Human Services office said.

As Kentucky sees a trend of increasing positive COVID-19 cases, officials at the Madison County Health Department say they too are seeing that trend. The region's death toll is now at 478 deaths.

Health officials say this resident was a male in his 70s who had been hospitalized. Officials did not identify the locations further.

According to a news release, Bernalillo County reported 99 new cases, more than twice the number of cases than the second-highest county - Doña Ana County - which had 46.

As of Saturday, the county has 15 community outbreaks in seven days, more than double the trigger of seven community outbreaks in a week. Of those, 6 percent were positive, in line with the 14-day rolling average for positive cases.

Coronavirus hospitalizations, emergency room visits and intensive case unit admissions were at near-record levels in the week that ended Saturday, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said.

Throughout the outbreak, it has been clear that the coronavirus, which causes COVID-19, affects different age groups disproportionately.
