In the meantime, Dana says the UFC is working on putting together a different fight for Khamzat on August 29th, which would be his 3rd fight in a little over a month!

"Khamzat posted, 'I want Nate Diaz, Masvidal then McGregor.' And McGregor said, 'I accept.' That's what that was".

When pressed on whether he would actually be interested in making a fight between McGregor and Chimaev, White quickly brushed off the notion. After making his Octagon debut at UFC Fight Island 1 with a submission victory over John Phillips, Khamzat made UFC history when he picked up a second win in just 10 days by stopping Rhys McKee in the first-round at UFC Fight Island 3.

However when contacted for comment by ESPN reporter Ariel Helwani, McGregor disputed White's understanding of the social media post.

Whether or not the tweet was meant for Chimaev, however, it does not mean that the fight will come to fruition.

In a previous interview with TMZ Sports, Chimaev spoke about what he would do to McGregor if they end up fighting. I am going to finish everybody.

It's no secret that Pacquiao is open to face McGregor in a dream fight, following in Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s footsteps in 2017.

"Notorious" could very well be referring to boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. He even used the famous catchphrase of McGregor's nemesis Khabib Nurmagomedov, telling him to, "Send me location".

Moments later. Conor responded - "I accept!".

Do you think we will see get to see Conor McGregor compete again in the 2020 calendar year?
