This single, as well as the psychedelic music video that was also released yesterday evening, is the artist's latest track to be dropped since February when Eilish shared the "No Time to Die" theme song for the upcoming James Bond blockbuster. The animated video by Andrew Ontario begins with Eilish walking through the forest in the rain.

The new release was written and recorded in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 lockdown and was produced by her brother Finneas. Whilst my future doesn't seem set for the chart-topping success of her single bad guy, it's proof Eilish is here to stay. At the end of the visuals, she gets her feet caught in a tree that later brings her towards the sky, as if indicating that she's walking towards her budding future. "We wrote the song in like two days". With the use of dark colors and the solemn look on Eilish's face, the video emphasizes the gloomy feel in the first half of the song.

"We wrote this at the very beginning of quarantine...when we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at a hopeful, excited, and insane amount of self-reflection and self-growth", she said. "And I was like, 'Let's just f**k around with it a little more.' And we finished the song that night, like finished completely". Hope you enjoy this song. After we wrote this tune, it was precisely the place my head was at - hopeful, excited, and a loopy quantity of self-reflection and self-growth. The singer had won trophies for best new artiste, record of the year, album of the year and song of the year.

"I have to keep reminding myself that the future is ours, and I know we want to do everything we can to make it better for everyone in the world, and for the world itself", she said.
