It turns out that these emails are part of an online scam. This also means anyone who receives the email should not provide any personal information or click any links in it.

When asked if there were official plans for a Cyberpunk 2077 beta, the account replied: "We do not have plans for that".

In the alert, CD Projekt Red reminded people to look closely at any emails they might receive.

Here's CD Projekt Red's full statement from the game's official Twitter account.

No matter how much we all want to access this game now (and to hang out with Keanu Reeves), it's very important that we all remember, Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a beta.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of this year's most hotly-anticipated releases, but unfortunately, that popularity is causing some trouble. Apparently, some ne'er-do-well has been reaching out to fans and content creators claiming to be working with the studio, but genuine messaging will always come from CDPR's own email accounts.
