When the tennis club in Finale Ligure, a small town in northern Italy, closed at the beginning of March, as part of Italy's fight against the coronavirus pandemic, its coaches challenged their young players to find inventive ways to keep training and to film themselves doing it. The two girls, 13-year-old Vittoria and 11-year-old Carola, were seen playing tennis from their respective rooftops against each other in the viral video in April this year.

In fact, the original video of Carola and Vittoria was an instant hit on socoal media, earning nearly seven million views on Twitter, 1.3 million views on Facebook and almost 450,000 views on Instagram within a day of publishing. But after becoming internet sensations, they got an unexpected surprise on 10 July - a visit from none other than 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, who both girls idolise, facilitated by a Pasta company. "Personally for me, that was a very special moment in my career as a tennis player".

"It was great. I have played in many cool places around the world". But this is definitely up there for me as a special experience. "It has to be for fun sometimes, with no expectations, just really having a good time".

In the video shared by the ATP Tour, Federer revealed he had another surprise for the girls. In partnership with Barilla, he is sending them to the Rafael Nadal Academy by Movistar for summer camp.
