COVID-19 cases in Douglas County increase to 812; 115 remain active

The State of Illinois Department of Public Health notified the Clinton County Health Department Thursday that Clinton County has moved into the orange category, based on IDPH COVID-19 county level risk metrics. Counties who are meeting targets developed by COVID-19 mitigation experts are considered blue.

Here is a summary of new cases and other COVID-19 stats reported today by health officials across Nebraska & Iowa. The scorecard also notes that 26 cases from this past week were due to community transmission: that is, the cases could not be linked to a known case, an outbreak or travel. All other reports in this post come from official news releases from area health departments and other authorities as stated. At its height, the average was about 28 cases per day in early to mid-July.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment's online map noted that 13,787 Douglas County residents had been tested for the disease so far. The county's testing rate per 1,000 people was 112.8.
