Cohen is now serving a three-year prison term at home after pleading guilty to lying to Congress and campaign finance violations. The ex-aide was given the permission to publish the book in July end after he was dragged to Otisville prison as a retaliation for planning to publish a book about Trump.

Cohen, a convicted felon, alleged in the foreword of his memoir, Disloyal, that "treachery" and "deceit" committed by Trump will be discovered by whichever president follows him.

He said the book will be based on personal anecdotes and "documentary evidence".

"In this way, Donald Trump and I were the most alike; in this naked lust for power, the President and I were soul mates".

Trump has refused to confirm he will accept November's election result win or lose, and critics say he is attempting to affect the election's outcome by sowing doubts about its integrity.

Michael Cohen is the ex-lawyer of President Donald Trump.

In the foreword, dated in March, Cohen writes he's "certain that Trump knows he will face prison time if he leaves office", pointing to legal problems that continue to swirl around the president, including an apparent investigation into Trump Organization tax claims.

He says Trump tried to "insinuate" himself into Putin's world and his "coterie of corrupt billionaire oligarchs".

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller past year concluded that Russian Federation waged a major campaign to help Trump to victory in 2016.

"Trump had colluded with the Russians, but not in the sophisticated ways imagined by his detractors "I stiffed contractors on his behalf, ripped off his business partners, lied to his wife Melania to hide his sexual infidelities, and bullied and screamed at anyone who threatened Trump's path to power".

Trump had banned with his Republican friends to accuse Cohen of being a liar that was trying to get a book deal when he testified before congress. "Trump had actually cheated in the election, with Russian connivance, as you will find in these pages, since doing anything - and I imply anything -to "win" has actually constantly been his service design and lifestyle".

'Our cell phones had the same address books, our contacts so entwined, overlapping and intimate that part of my job was to deal with the endless queries and requests, however large or small, from Trump's countless rich and famous acquaintances, ' he writes.

Earlier in the day, Cohen had released the book's foreword, writing of his estranged former boss, "He wouldn't mind if I was dead".

In the book's introduction, Cohen also discusses the prospect of Trump losing in the upcoming presidential election, Trump is said to be trailing the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden in the polls.
