Mission Impossible 7: Shoot Delays due to an accident

Tom Cruise is by far one of the world's biggest stars but the actor often finds himself in the headlines for rather peculiar reasons.

Running got him intro trouble while filming Mission: Impossible - Fallout in 2017 when he broke his ankle after misjudging a jump and slamming into the side of a building. The film was such a failure that it caused Universal to scrap its original Dark Universe plans in favor of scaled-down a Blumhouse Productions versions of the concept. It is being said that Tom Cruise is very disappointed with the delay in shooting the film. But ... it doesn't sound like he likes competition, according to a recent interview in The Hollywood Reporter with the co-star in The Mummy, Annabelle Wallis.

Tom Cruise makes a surprise appearance to promote "Top Gun: Maverick" at Comic Con on July 18, 2019.

She gushed: "He's such a movie star, and he does his own bloody stunts!" Wallis told THR. "He means business, and he loves this business. He said, 'Nobody runs on-screen [with me],'" Wallis shared, adding: "And I said, 'But I'm a really good runner". So, I'd time my treadmill in order that he'd stroll in and see me run. "And then he added all these running scenes". So, that was it.

"It was, like, better than an Oscar", she gushed. I used to be so completely happy!

Tom Cruise's run is nearly as famous as the man himself - the sprint that launched a million memes and supercuts.

"(It was the) first time I ever stayed at The Plaza Hotel, and we check-in, and Tom finds out that we're sharing a room and just goes ballistic", he said. It's so great to be excited by somebody and in awe of what they've achieved of their lives. And I hope the questions never stop. I like speaking about him.

Annabelle Wallis attends the premiere of "Tag" at Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, California.

The "Tom Cruise runs away from danger" trope has become a well-worn meme by this point, given the actor's movies always having at least one long-take shot of Cruise in flawless running form, arms pumping strenuously as he speeds away from explosions, exploding bridges, oncoming sandstorms, into traffic, and sometimes even into the very heart of danger.
