Kaminsky reportedly fell when he was about 200 feet up the ride's tower shortly before 8 a.m.

A worker in Florida has died after plunging hundreds of feet off the state's tallest tourist attraction, the StarFlyer in Orlando.

The worker struck a platform below the ride at ICON Park on International Drive in Orlando and went into cardiac arrest, according to first responders who were called to the scene.

Ashley Gipson, a spokesperson for Orange County Fire Rescue, was reported to have said that "there are some discrepancies in how far the fall was". He was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

StarFlyer officials did not immediately return a request for comment Monday, but a director of sales and marketing for the attraction told WKMG that its employees are "saddened" by the accident.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Orange County Sheriff's Office are conducting the investigation.

The 450-foot ride, which is described as a "family-friendly high thrill experience", runs between three and four minutes and sits 24 people, with no age or weight limit. It's extremely sad. But we're holding up and supporting each other, ' Stine said.
