Williams was tapped to detail the company's new Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE models. It's also only available in an aluminum finish (the Series 6 offers stainless steel and titanium options). Well, it didn't, as there was a new focus on different services that are coming to the Watch later this year.

Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available in Australia, as it requires some work from the Telcos to provision the virtual SIM card for a new number on the same account as the iPhone. In the realm of parental controls, you can turn on location notifications and monitor and limit who family members can chat with.

Fitness+ (post update): Apple launches Fitness+, which adds new workouts every week with interactive features between the workout and the Watch metrics. Sporting some cool specs and new features, Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch 6 are now ready for us, so let's check out what they have to offer. The watch comes with a lower price tag than Watch Series 6. It's powered by the S5 chip (the chip that powers Series 5) and should run watchOS 7 swimmingly, and it's available in the same two screen sizes: 42mm and 44mm. It will have the latest motion sensors for fall detection support and can take heart rate measurements. On the first look, both smartwatches look similar, and the differences are concentrated mainly in the features' department.

Apple's now famous "September Event" would normally introduce a brand new iPhone to the world, but for reasons we can only speculate on that announcement will have to wait until October as this morning the company revealed new versions of their iPad and Apple Watches.

Though the feature set is clearly designed for parents with children too young for their own phone, it's unclear how well it will be embraced by parents, due to the Apple Watch's higher price point. Separately, Apple TV+ or Apple Fitness may not be fully formed businesses yet, but together they're more than the sum of their parts.

The tracking and monitoring, kind of unbelievably, all happens on your wrist. The service features 10 types of studio workouts, yoga, cycling, dance, treadmill run, strength and core, mindful cool-downs, and even a novice program.

With the introduction of a one-of-a-kind bundle like Apple One, not only does Apple have yet another channel to accelerate monthly recurring revenue in its Services business, but it brings more people into its software ecosystem and gets them to stay.

Fitness+ costs $9.99/month or $79.99/year with family plans available.

Original post: As expected, Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) event is focusing on the Apple Watch and iPad.
