EA's Madden NFL 21 was a very strong performer, with an impressive showing for the Nintendo Switch in the hardware stakes as well.

According to NPD analyst Mat Piscatella and reported by Video Games Chronicle, Switch dollar sales for August 2020 beat the previous record set in August 2008 by the Nintendo Wii.

In addition to Madden's success, Nintendo will have cause for celebration when reflecting on August's sales figures.

Bethesda is collaborating with Limited Run Games to offer us a tangible, collectable version of DOOM 64 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Piscatella notes that "Nintendo Switch unit volume more than doubled when compared to a year ago. Switch was the best-selling hardware platform of the month". Just recently, Nintendo has announced Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which is a prequel to The legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and one of the games that immediately became one of the most highly anticipated titles of the year. With so many people spending extra time at home, more money is being spent on entertainment, and the Nintendo Switch is an excellent device for families stuck indoors with each other. Pisccatella notes that it "has ranked among the top 7 best-sellers on Switch for 42 consecutive months. It is the 10th best-selling game on Nintendo platforms in USA tracked history".

The top five best-selling games include Madden NFL 21, UFC 4, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Ghost of Tsushima, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Have you contributed to these games' strong sales figures?
