Asus ROG IKEA furniture and accessories are meant to "increase performance while also blending in beautifully to homes", so probably won't be garish, outlandish, or RGB infused but based largely upon the simple IKEA design lines that make it popular.

IKEA and ROG aren't the first to do such a collaboration, as Logitech recently teamed with Herman Miller on a gaming chair.

The range consisting of about 30 products will be launched first in China in February 2021, and from October 2021 it will be available in other IKEA markets.

As well as the Shanghai meeting photo-documented here, Asus and IKEA say they held many personal and virtual meetings at the IKEA Product Development Centre (Shanghai) and Asus Design Centre (Taipei and Shanghai), which amounted to several hundred hours of collaboration on these products - spanning ideation, design, development, testing, experiment and modifications.

Kris Huang, general manager of Asus gaming gear and accessory business unit, stated that with ROG's "strong understanding of the gaming community" and Ikea's know-how, together they will deliver products that "empower gamers to build the gaming space they have always imagined". Are you excited to see what Ikea and ROG will come up with? "Together, we set out to help the many gamers (and their families) welcome gaming home through developing the new range of affordable and ergonomic gaming furniture and accessories, created to increase performance while also blend in beautifully to homes", IKEA said in a statement yesterday.

"By teaming up with ROG, IKEA wants to combine its home furnishing knowledge with ROG's expertise in creating exceptional gaming experience", the company wrote. We hope that the new gaming range will help to embrace and enable the benefits of gaming in life at home.

KitGuru says: Would you like to see what Ikea and Asus have in store for us? It is said that the home is where the heart is - but it is also the heart of gaming for many of today's most devoted players.

But Ikea and ROG are far from the only companies collaborating together to create products that appeal to gamers. It provides a leap forward in visual clarity and responsiveness, especially for gamers upgrading from 60Hz or even 144Hz displays.
