Rocky View County has jumped to 140 active cases an increase of 30 since Thursday, April 1.

Morinville has 14 active cases, more than doubling the amount of active cases from Thursday, which was six.

She says the outbreak has been confined to 3 work sites in Central and North Zone, where employees travelled between sites.

This now means variant cases make up 39 per cent of all active cases in the province, with our positivity rate at 9.9 per cent.

On Monday, Hinshaw provided new details on efforts to contain two outbreaks of the P1 variant, with cases confirmed in at least four worksites.

Hinshaw on Saturday said there had been a "significant" Brazilian variant outbreak, but gave no further details until Monday.

Beginning Tuesday at 8 A.M., additional Albertans will be eligible to book a COVID-19 immunization as part of phase 2B through AHS online & Health Link 8-1-1.

A separate and unrelated P.1 outbreak was identified at a workplace in the Calgary zone, with five COVID-19 cases associated with it and one confirmed case of the P.1 variant.

A rapid growth in variant cases is behind both of those numbers. "Please keep making safe choices and limit in-person interactions whenever possible to help prevent the spread of COVID-10 province-wide", Hinshaw stated in a tweet.

On Monday, Alberta reported 887 new cases of COVID-19 and 432 new variant cases, which now account for almost 40 per cent of active infections in the province.

The online booking tool has been changed to allow up to four eligible family members to book at the same time at the same clinic, Alberta Health Services said in a statement Monday. The number of patients in intensive care units has grown more rapidly, up to 76 reported on Monday, almost double the 40 reported three weeks prior.
